Featured works in the Blacc Magazine Exhibit

My extremely talented friends who are Co-Editors In Chief for the Blacc magazine, Black Literature and Arts Collective, organized a dope show in the main hallway of The Hotchkiss School. I have the honor of being a regular contributor to this magazine, and this time contributed an installation of cardboard shoes to highlight the part fashion and footwear has played in black culture.

The Blacc team and I had to troubleshoot ways to hang each shelf and shoe but eventually figured out that velcro command strips were strong enough to support the weight with no problem. Each shoe typically takes me about 6 hours to build with cardboard and paint with tempera and as always, I build with cardboard as an homage to the legendary Bill Barminski.

Most of these works have been sold and two have been saved for my personal archives
